In the darkness of the laboratory near to the center of the Forks city Echo was sitting alone with his whiskey.
He felt really bad but he wasn't even sure why was he feeling like that.
The day was almost done, the sun was slowly coming down and the moon will appear in every minute with so much starts that he wouldn't even be able to count all of them.
That was probably how much he loved Katrien.
That is how much she will never be able to love him.

He was waiting for her. Even if she said she would come at 2 pm and now is almost 8 pm.
He will always wait for her.
Today Echo was all alone in their laboratory and shop because she didn't come.
He spent almost all day wondering where she was. Why the hell she wasn't coming.

But then he remembered.
She is married.

Sometimes was really easy to forget that tiny little fact but still, it was the greatest truth in his life. Katrien will never be only his.
He will always share her with that Faulkner boy.

Some people would probably say that Echo is insane because he doesn't want to left her. But the thing they don't understand is the fact that you can't just leave the reason for your existence.
Katrien is everything he wanted and he just wasn't able to leave her.

It's not like he didn't try it. But that moment when she smiles at him, that moment tell him everything he wanted to know.
They belong together and hopefully, Katrien will realize that once.

She finally came to the store at almost 9 pm and Echo looked at her and for just the one tiny moment he tried to pretend that his heart didn't start to beat faster at the moment when he saw her.

"I was waiting for you all day. You told me you will be here at 2 pm." he looked at her in hope that she will give him the explanation.

Katiren spent the day shopping and getting a makeover she lost track of time though that never bothered her. Though when she eyed the time she knew that she had to head to the lab as if she didn't show Echo maybe on to her ways. Though that she  cared she had no feelings for him. He was just her toy that she couldn't throw away or leave alone. She loved to wheel him in and spin her web to and watch him be all over her once again.

Katkrien knew she was late however she really did not care and she knew that Echo would forgive her he always did. She walked into the lab with her hair braided at her nape and her lips were painted with a bright red lipstick. She walked up to him and draped her arms over his neck. "I am sorry." She whispered sweetly knowing that he would soon melt in her arms as he always did he was putty in her hands and she loved that about him. She loved the fact that she could manipulate him that he would never want to be without her even though he would never be with her she made that perfectly clear by marrying another she smirked when she remembered that day when she told him she was engaged.

Kissing his cheek as she leaned over and rested her chin on his shoulder. "So what have you been working on?" She asked sweetly as she moved over and took her own chair and pulled it close to him. She rested her hand on his lap as she waited to hear what he had spent the afternoon on pretending to be interested in what he was talking about.

Once when she was finally there, of course, she didn't give any explanation. It was just like always, she came there, say that she is sorry, maybe kiss him few time and that's it. Or sleep with him.
Sometimes he felt like her personal whore.
But he knew that he loves her, truly and deep, and he can't just ignore that.

So once when she was close enough he took his chance and put his hands on her cheeks and kissed her slowly.
The thing is, even if he knew that all of this what they are doing is wrong, because, the fact was that she was cheating her husband with him, still it felt so right. Like if they are meant to be together on every possible way.

"I did nothing special" he looked at Katrien once when she sit on her own chair. He was playing with her fingers while he was speaking "I tried to make the new drug, but something is missing, and I don't know what. I spent all day thinking about it" he shrugged.
